Syra Kalyva, or, literally, “Syra’s Cottage”, is an acknowledgment of co-founders Syra and Emmanuel’s love for their home and family, and everything that makes our house a home. The use of the Greek word “Kalyva” is a tribute to Emmanuel’s Mediterranean heritage and a family history of crafting quality home linen. 

Emmanuel’s heritage traces back to a quaint farming village nestled in the heart of the Mediterranean mountains, where his ancestors lived a simple, self-sustaining lifestyle. Stitching and embroidering home linens was something his grandmother excelled at; and driven nothing but the pride and joy she took in perfecting her craft, her eloquently embroidered patterns gained significant admiration in the village.

Decades later, many of these hand-crafted pieces are still in great condition today, despite years of use. The quality of these items is still largely unmatched by products available today, and the patterns look just as striking as the day they were made. Inspired by this, Syra and Emmanuel had the desire to create something as lasting and impactful.
